Hi I'm Jonas, a 25-year-old guy who loves to code and solve problems in creative ways. I have dipped my toes in many different aspects of 3D development. From working with engine source code, to designing and developing gameplay elements. In my spare time I create technical artwork using Houdini and Blender.
On this page you will find some things I accomplished in no particular order.
As Lead Developer of One Bonsai I had a lot of responsibilities: Developing VR trainings, building a system to speed up this development in C++, setting up and maintaining the perforce, swarm and jenkins servers, guiding the developers and artists on a technical level, providing technical feedback in meetings with clients and many more smaller tasks.
I was a part of a group called "The Collective" as a last year game development student. The Collective consisted of 12 selected students. A mix of DAE, Devine and Industrial Product Design students. As a multidisciplinary team we worked on a prestige project for the lead design team of Porsche. In this project we imagined a future of Volkswagen and presented our vision in various ways.
DAE is one of the leading game development schools in the world. Most notably our school won the Rookies award for Best Game Design & Development Schools in the World multiple times. I graduated with a bachelor's degree Digital Arts And Entertainment (Cum laude).
A good artificial intelligence can play games on a skillevel beyond any human. I made an artificial intelligence framework that can be used to play any game. This framework includes: generation of human-like mouse movement, Object recognition and many more tools.
Graphics programming was one of the most challenging courses of Digital Arts And Entertainment. In this course we had to develop our own game engine from scratch and use this game engine to make a game. It was unheard-of for someone to achieve the maximum score.
Warecave is a game studio located in Belgium. I helped develop their latest RPG, Black Legend. My responsability was the UI and its back-end integration in Unreal(C++).
For more than 200 days I created daily renders using Blender and Houdini. These renders can be found on my Instagram page.
While working at One Bonsai I also enrolled into an artificial intelligence course. In this course we learned how to extract useful insights from large datasets.
Blender is an amazing piece of software. But there can never be enough tools to add even move functionality. So I set out to develop my own add-ons.
Making your own tutorials is the best way to master a skill. This way you get a lot of insightful feedback from your viewers. I did just that and started my own youtube channel.
